Team GO&FUN Honda Gresini rider Alvaro Bautista's Italian Grand Prix lasted just three corners today, the Spanish rider coming into contact with Valentino Rossi as both riders crashed out. It was a real shame for the rid er and for the team, who were competing in their home race today. Bryan Staring did manage to finish the race after struggling throughout the weekend, gathering more crucial experience to help accelerate his adaptation to MotoGP.

After missing out on the points in the first four rounds of the season Niccolò Antonelli finally opened his account for the season today with a seventh place finish in the Italian Grand Pri x. The youngster got a good start in front of his home fans to run with the lead group in the early stages but he paid for a lack of horsepower down the long straight here and could not stay in touch. It was a shame but it was a satisfactory result for the Team GO&FUN Gresini Moto3 rider, who met his target of finishing as the top Italian and the top Honda. Lorenzo Baldassarri was unable to break into the points positions but it was a positive performance nonetheless from the rookie, who continues to show his potential in this category.
