GOOD FEELINGS FOR ANTONELLI AND BASTIANINI DURING THE FIRST DAY OF TESTING OF 2014.

Antonelli and Bastianini - 2014 test

The two young riders of the Junior Team GO&FUN Moto3, Niccolò Antonelli and Enea Bastianini, took to the track today at the Spanish circuit of Almeria for the first day of testing of 2014. Despite the long winter break needed a few laps to reactivate the mechanisms and take the right references, both riders collected good feelings riding the new KTM developed for the upcoming season.

As it happened last November, Antonelli was among the fastest riders with a best time of 1'40"4, while Bastianini began his adventure in the Moto3 World Championship setting a good 1'41"9.

Testing will continue tomorrow for the second and final day at Almeria.

NICCOLO' ANTONELLI (1'40"4 - 53 LAPS)
“A very positive first day! This first day helped me to take off a bit of ‘rust’ after the long winter break and to pick up the right feeling with the bike. In the end we did a pretty good lap time, even if we have not pushed to the limit. In the latter part of the day I started to do make changes on the set-up, finding some solutions that I like: I did a lot of laps with an used tyre, keeping a good pace and therefore I’m satisfied. Today the weather was good and allowed us to do a great job, so hopefully tomorrow we can continue like this”.

ENEA BASTIANINI (1'41"9 - 42 LAPS)
“I’m really happy because we worked well on the bike right from the start: of course my adventure has just begun and there is still a lot of work to do, but I can already say that we start from a good base. In these tests we used for the first time the new bike and I loved it: it is very fast and smooth, and I really like riding it. Tomorrow we will also try to improve lap times, as today we didn’t worry so much about this aspect, given that I rode a lot with used tyres”.

FAUSTO GRESINI
“It’s nice to be back on track and it’s nice to see bot hour riders so higly motivated: Niccolò was immediately fast and consistent, putting in many laps with used tyres; he also liked the new bike developed for the 2014 season, so we are confindent ahead the new challenge. I’m also happy about Enea’s approach: despite being a rookie, he worked with calm, methodically: only with this attitude you can get the best results in these pre-season tests”.
