Team GO&FUN Honda Gresini rider Alvaro Bautista hit the ground running at one of his four home Grands Prix today, lapping fourth fastest in this afternoon's second free practice session in Barcelona. The Spaniard showed good pace around the Circ uit de Catalunya from the morning session and despite a crash he came back stronger in the afternoon and stepped up his pace. It was a contrasting situation for Australia's Bryan Staring, who is riding here for the first time and struggled for front grip and corner speed.

After a productive home Grand Prix and post-race test at Mugello Niccolò Antonelli and Lorenzo Baldassarri continue their quest for Moto3 World Championship points in Barcelona this weekend and the pai r made an encouraging start at the Circuit de Catalunya. Niccolò was amongst the pacesetters throughout the opening day and will no doubt make further improvements to his bike set-up alongside his Team GO&FUN Gresini Moto3 engineers in tomorrow's remaining free practice and qualifying sessions. Despite a small crash Lorenzo has also made good progress today.
