This afternoon’s Qualifying session of the Dutch Grand Prix at the historic Assen circuit saw the Junior Team GO&FUN Moto3 riders, Niccolò Antonelli and Enea Bastianini, set the fifth and twelfth fastest time, respectively.Second fastest this morning in the third and final free practice session, Niccolò Antonelli continued to show an excellent rhythm this afternoon, clocking a best time of 1’42”515, which means that the young Italian will start tomorrow from the middle of the second row of the grid. His teammate Enea Bastianini, slowed by traffic on his second attempt, set at the end of the qualifying session the time of 1’42”822 and tomorrow he will start from the fourth row of the grid, a result certainly below expectations after yesterday’s fastest time, but the 16-year-old rookie remains optimistic for tomorrow’s race.

NICCOLO' ANTONELLI (5th - 1'42"515) “I’m very happy to be back with the top 7-8 riders; recently I was missing it. During the test carried out last week at Aragon we identified a good base for the bike set-up and now we’re always working on this basis, without big changes: today my feeling with the bike was very good, especially this morning, while with the conditions encountered this afternoon it’s been a little but more difficult. In fact, I got my best lap time in qualifying following another rider in front of me, while this morning I was able to do it alone; anyway, in the end we obtained a good lap time and a good grid position. Tomorrow's race will be very important: first we have to finish it. I feel that this might be the right weekend to do a good result”.

ENEA BASTIANINI (12th - 1'42"822) “I’m a little bit disappointed because I knew I could do a better lap time, but in my first attempt I was not able to immediately take advantage of the new tyres and after that, during the second attempt, I was doing a very good lap when I found some traffic, therefore I had to slow down. At that point the front tire was already a bit worn; nevertheless at the end of the session we were able to sign a good lap time. Therefore, we remain very confident for tomorrow's race, although there is a little disappointment for the starting position. We will have to attack during the first stages of the race to try to stay with the leading group”.

FAUSTO GRESINI “It’s been a good day of qualifying, with both our riders who showed a good pace and with lap times very close to those of the fastest riders. The gap between the riders is very limited so tomorrow we will see a hard fought race from start to finish: it won’t be easy, especially for Enea, who will start back in fourth row, but it’s also true that there are no riders with a rhythm to go away, so it will be very important to make a good start to stay with them in the first laps”.
